Derrick L. Mercer Jr.'s ministry is not built around inspiration alone. It is built around formation, the work of becoming whole beneath the title, not just moved for a moment.
A preacher, bestselling author, and mentor, and the founder of DM2 Ministries and The Wisdom Hub, Derrick meets people in the place they keep hidden and helps them move from private wrestling to God-led action, through preaching, teaching, mentorship, and resources.
A Life Marked By Calling
Derrick received the call of God early and preached his first sermon at six years old, from John 3:16. What began as a child's response has matured into a lifelong commitment to ministry and wisdom.
As a fourth-generation preacher, Derrick stands in a rich spiritual heritage. His formation has been shaped by the guidance and investment of Apostle Daryl McCoy, Dr. Derrick Mercer Sr., and the late Bishop Calvin Kinsey. Their example helped form his voice, deepen his conviction, and strengthen his commitment to serving God's people with integrity and wisdom.
His foundation was also shaped by his family, his mother, Yolanda Russ, and his late grandmother, Naomi Halford, whose prayers, wisdom, and example helped make him the man and minister he is today.
A Burden That Grew
In 2015, Derrick launched The Encounter Experience out of a burden to reach the millennial generation. That burden has grown into a wider assignment, to help people become whole enough to walk out what God has placed in them.
Through The Wisdom Hub, he continues that work, building a space where biblical wisdom meets real life, purpose, and becoming.
